Analog Society - pretend play
In which I run an “analog society”, which collects a few old tech gadgets and even some non-analog/early-digital things.
We have
- a Kodak Carousel S slide projector
- stereoscopic viewers like View-Master
- early 2000s digital photo frames
- cassette players
- overhead projectors
We hold slideshow evenings using the slide projector. We sometimes do group slide making events where we make the slides based on photos and other artsy things we make so that they can be projected using the slide projector.
During the slide show evenings , we sometimes play audio cassettes in the background. Someone might come with an old handicam and make a montage of clips and show it on a VGA only old projector.
The slide projector is the key thing. Everything revolves around that. Maybe it should be a slide projector society.
